5 Principles to Transform Your Performance

An organization seeking to improve overall performance must start with a snapshot of the current state of affairs. With this as a benchmark, future gains can be measured and trends can be plotted to show results of project initiatives. It is important to view the total organization as a system consisting of drivers, results, and measures for correction and improvement. The process presented here assesses all aspects of a business and strives for ultimate alignment of strategic and operational goals.

Description

The Business Performance Assessment process includes an extensive evaluation of management, business, and production processes with the following objectives:

      to identify strengths and improvement opportunities within the company
      to provide a basis for developing a strategic action plan for improvement
      to provide an objective framework for measuring progress toward goals

The Criteria for Performance Excellence *  are used as the framework for the evaluation. The criteria have been in use and refined for over fourteen years and have achieved an admirable track record with large and small companies. The criteria are designed to help companies enhance their competitiveness through focus on:
     improvement of overall company performance and capabilities; and
     delivery of ever-improving value to customers, resulting in marketplace success;

Scope

The scope addresses all company operations for management, business, and production. The project includes planning and conducting the assessment and reporting of results. It does not include plans and/or actions to correct all or any problems and deficits identified but provides the basis for developing targeted action plans.

Benefits

The process and results of the assessment provide the following benefits:

     objective evaluation of the management, business, and production processes currently in place

       and how they are performing;

      understanding of key business drivers, how results are measured, and how activities and measures

       are aligned with overall company goals;

      improvement areas that that will enhance company performance;

      foundation for strategic and action planning;

     essential facts for prioritizing management goals and actions;

PROCESS IMPROVEMENT

process is a series of related activities performed to achieve a particular result.

Most workers are so busy trying to complete their jobs that they don’t have time to look at the “big picture”;

... they can't evaluate the efficiency and productivity of their actions.

So, things get done “…the way we always did it.”

  • Many business activities eat up time, energy, and resources but add little or no value for the customer.
  • Process Improvement techniques focus on identifying and streamlining these non-value-adding activities

.

                     The results are reduced costs, speedier service, and products that meet customers' expectations.

Considerations for achieving efficient &

 effective work processes include:

  Effective process design

  Efficient operational performance

  Linkage to customers, suppliers, & partners

  Focus on value creation     Evaluation & measurement

  Cycle time reduction         Cost reduction

  Continuous improvement

  Our analysis of your operations includes all of these considerations to improve your core processes

 Process Improvement is a systematic approach to analyzing and refining a process in order to make it more effective

        1. Process Selection
        2. Process Definition
        3. Process Simplification
        4. Measurement
        5. Implementation & On-going Improvement
